HELPING PEOPLE
In the Cambridge Dictionary stated that help means to make it
possible or easier for someone to do something, by doing part of yourself or by
providing advice, money, support, etc. There are some quotes said that,
“helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the
world for one person” and “helping others, without expecting anything in return
is what time self-worth is about”. So, by helping people, will give a happiness
to whom in trouble and distress.
According to Islam, one of the central principles of Islam is
helping others. While some perceive Islam as a faith that encourages violence
rather than positive contributions to society, but Qur’an and especially the
hadith highlight how helping another human being is a fundamental aspect of
Islam. Muslims’ primary goal is to worship God, but this is done not only
through rituals like prayer and fasting but also through treatment of other
people. One hadith in particular that underscores this message comes from a
collection called An-Nawawi: “Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a
believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment.
Whosoever alleviates [the lot of] a needy person, Allah will alleviate [his
lot] in this world and the next. Whosoever shields a Muslim, Allah will shield
him in this world and the next. Allah will aid a slave [of His] so long as the
slave aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein,
Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in
one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among
themselves, but tranquillity and peace descends upon them, mercy envelopes
them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them amongst those
who are with Him. And whosoever is slowed down by his actions will not be
hastened forward by his lineage”. It is clear from this that helping others
is connected to a believer’s worship of God. In other words, the hadith
connects responsibility to people to other acts of worship like reading Qur’an
with other Muslims and seeking knowledge. Moreover, there is a clear reward for
a person who aids another, both in this world and in the next. This is
important for Muslims because they believe that each person will face God on the
Day of Judgment and be asked about all their deeds. It is clear from the hadith
above that helping others is not optional but a religious duty. Even though we
are Muslim, Islam encourage us to help all people without being racist.
So, in this movie, we can see that the hero struggle to help a girl
even in a distress situation. We can learned that the guy named Pawan Kumar
Chaturredi is so faithful to his religion, Hindu. Pawan is very kind and religious. In nearly one hour of the story, Pawan
knew that Shahida / Munni is a Muslim, who is totally different from him and
his girlfriend's family (her father really hate people of different caste). He
just knew that Shahida/ Munni from Pakistan and Muslim. His was in dilemma to
help Shahida because his country and, India, have conflict with Pakistan, so it
is not easy to go to Pakistan. It make things difficult to send her back to her
hometown because she doesn’t have visa on her, but, Pawan not give up easily
and tried very hard to make her return to her family. He faced many
difficulties while helping Shahida. At first, when he knew that Shahida from
Pakistan, he went to Pakistan Embassy to send her, but he got rejected from the
worker because he doesn’t have evidence that Shahida from Pakistan. Then, he went
to the agent who make visa but unfortunately the agent didn’t do visa to
Pakistan. He strengthens his spirit and make a decision to enter Pakistan
illegally. When he was in Pakistan, a news spread that a man from India being a
spy for his country so, he hunted by Pakistan polices. He remained steadfast in
the long road to bring Shahida to his family even though he knew that he would
be arrested by polices. When he had almost managed to bring Shahida to his
family, he was arrested and tortured by the police, but he was still patient. He
was told to claim that he was a spy from India even though it was never in his
intention to be a spy. After a few days, he got released and all people proud
on him because he was brave enough to help Shahida who is not same country and
religion.
